"My name is Jake.  That's my first name, obviously.  I can't tell you my last name.  It would be too dangerous.  The Controllers are everywhere. Everywhere.  And if they knew my full name, they could find me and my friends, and then... well, let's just say I don't want them to find me."

Notes- 

In the book, the current scene of Jake and Marco playing a video game and Jake not doing so well at it is mentioned later.  However, in the book, the arcade game involves trolls and combat in a more Lord of the Rings fantasy setting as described through Marco's later dialogue.  This was changed to a Space setting with star ships to set the visual tone for later in the story.  Jake's ship here is hit and he loses.  At the beginning of Chapter 2, the Animorphs witness Elfangor crash his fighter ship right in front of them.
